Lew OttAfter studying at the Los Angeles County Art Institute, Chouinard Art Institute, and Allied Arts, Lew Ott began his career in animation in 1952 at Walt Disney Productions. He did inbetweens and breakdowns on Peter Pan, became an assistant animator on Sleeping Beauty, Lady and the Tramp and 101 Dalmatians. In 1959 he went to Otis Art Institute and received his Master of Fine Arts degree in 1963.
In 1964 he joined Hanna-Barbera Productions as a Layout artist. Between 1964 and 1994 Lew worked on just about every TV series and special produced by Hanna-Barbera, including Squiddley Diddley, Space Ghost, The Fantastic Four, The Herculoids, Wacky Races, Three Musketeers, The Globetrotters, Charlotte's Web, Pebbles and Bamm Bamm, Josie and the Pussycats, Wait Until Your Father Gets Home, The Flintstones, Inch High Private Eye, Superfriends, Dynomutt, Captain Caveman, Yogi Bear, Scooby Doo, The Smurfs, Pound Puppies, Ed Grimley, The Snorks, Tom and Jerry Kids, and dozens more that won't fit on this page.
In his spare time, Lew also worked at Pantomime Pictures (Hot Wheels), Filmation, Bakshi-Krantz (Fritz the Cat), Chuck Jones, Sanrio, Ruby-Spears, Marvel and Burger King. Lew has also exhibited his fine art at exhibitions and juried shows, group shows, and one-man shows.
