If the Guild loses the election, so do the employees.
The Guild is prohibited from making any further organizing efforts for
at least one year.
If the Guild wins the election, so do the employees.
The employer is obligated to negotiate "in good faith" with the
Guild.
The Guild will form a negotiating committee of volunteers from amongst
the employees in other words, you get to negotiate the collective
bargaining agreement you want.
Does this mean we will get a Guild agreement? Nationwide,
the rate of success in getting a union contract after a successful election
is about fifty percent. For the Guild, the success rate has been higher,
but we don't bat 1.000. Often we reach an agreement ... sometimes we don't.
