  • WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE ELECTION?
    • If the Guild loses the election, so do the employees. The Guild is prohibited from making any further organizing efforts for at least one year.
    • If the Guild wins the election, so do the employees. The employer is obligated to negotiate "in good faith" with the Guild.
    • The Guild will form a negotiating committee of volunteers from amongst the employees ­ in other words, you get to negotiate the collective bargaining agreement you want.
    • Does this mean we will get a Guild agreement? Nationwide, the rate of success in getting a union contract after a successful election is about fifty percent. For the Guild, the success rate has been higher, but we don't bat 1.000. Often we reach an agreement ... sometimes we don't.
